چکیده

Abstract In fields of undulating topography, where rainfed crops experience different degrees water stress caused by spatial variations, yields vary spatially within the same field, thus offering opportunities for variable rate application (VRA) nitrogen fertilizer. This study assessed variations yield gaps lateral flows from high to low points, wheat grown in Córdoba, Spain, over six consecutive seasons (2016–2021). The economic implications associated with multiple scenarios VRA adoption were explored through a case and recommendations proposed. Both farm size (i.e., annual sown area) topographic structure impacted dynamics investment returns. Under current policy-price conditions, would have an advantage farms similar that area greater than 567 ha year −1 . Nevertheless, trends energy prices, transportation costs impacts on both cereal prices fertilizers enhance viability wider population types. profitability adopting improves under such and, absence additional policy support, minimum decreases range 68–177 combination price increases introduction subsidy crop could substantially lower threshold down 46 , making technology economically viable much farmers.

Spatial modeling of rainfed wheat yield using agroclimaticmicrozonation in Kurdistan

Wheat is the main focus of the economy of Kurdistan province in which the annual fluctuation of wheat yield is 4/11 times as affected by the climatic elements of the site. This study investigated the role of agro-climatic variables and indices on rainfed wheat yield in Kurdistan province. The data of planting area, amount of production, damages and yield of wheat of 31-year in 10 regions of Kur...

Chlorophyll meter – a decision-making tool for nitrogen application in wheat under light soils

Nitrogen (N) in plants is generally diagnosed by a soil test and plant tissue analysis. However, such analyses are costly in terms of time and money and are not easily accessible byresearchers and extension workers, let alone farmers. Alternative cost-effective methods arerequired for rapid analysis of the N status of crops and to guide N management in wheat. Theobjective of this study was to as...

Depth of nitrogen fertiliser placement affects nitrogen accumulation, translocation and nitrate-nitrogen content in soil of rainfed wheat

A field experiment was conducted to examine the effects of different depths ofnitrogen (N) fertiliser placements on N accumulation, remobilisation and NO3−-Ncontent in soil of rainfed wheat. Nitrogen was applied on the surface (D1) and inthe 10 cm (D2), 20 cm (D3) and 30 cm (D4) soil layers from 2010 to 2012.Compared with D1 and D2, D3 and D4 treatments obtained significant higher Ndistribution...

Enhancing economic water productivity under on farm reservoirs in diversified rainfed cropping systems

A long term study was done to assess the impact of on farm reservoirs (OFR) on oil seedand cereal based cropping systems with vegetables (okra, tomato and carrot) in semi-aridalfisol of southern Telangana region. Two supplemental irrigation (SI) depths (30 and 50 mm)from OFR with raingun system were studied for assessing the water productivity andprofitability of the technology in these croppin...
